more sliding.
It was a warm heavy snow this day, in Contamines-Montjoie we needed to get just a bit higher to prevent the snow sticking, but it was fun regardless, just had to keep sliding to prevent melt stick. Dad gave it a shot too.
This was the coldest day by far and only Fabrice and I were keen to go out. I rented a long board this day, which turned out to be a mistake, the powder was too deep to get into on the unfamiliar slopes, especially since is was white out on and off. We made it over to Taverne de Belleville fingers crossed weather would not shut down the lifts while we were on the far side of the mountain range. That would be quite a retrieve !

skiing megeve
Somehow we managed to get up early and organised for a half day skiing on Christmas eve. It was some time ago now but I remember the snow being a wonderful consistency that day.
The slopes were deserted initially, what a treat.Mont d'Arbois is where we mostly toured.

Dijon like the mustard
Why Dijon ? well it was about half way along the remaining leg to Tamsins place in the Alps. It is also a nice town to visit, and Tamsin had booked us into a nice historic hotel, where we enjoyed some wine and an open fire place.
Next morning we did a quite town walk. The architectures change with the historical period constructed in. Dijon is known for a few mosaic style roofs.
The Christmas market was in full swing, with all the great things France does so well. The herbs smelt amazing.
